About Cedar Witch Goods LLC

photo of Katie Adams

Hello, I'm Katie, the owner and product developer at Cedar Witch Goods. This business was born from a desire to use fewer toxic ingredients in my day-to-day routine. I started off buying handmade soaps, but after seeing how beautiful they could be, I just had to learn how to make it myself. So I learned and then I reformulated until I created a product that I love using every day.

Product Offerings

Handmade soaps have been my focus since day 1, but these days I make many different handmade products, including:

  • Body Lotions
  • Lip Balms
  • Sugar Scrubs
  • Beard Oils
  • Body Oils
  • Room Sprays
  • Aromatherapy Inhalers
  • Essential Oil Roll-Ons
  • Wax Melts
  • Perfume Oils

I also offer a few products that I do not make myself, including:

  • Incense
  • Facial Sponges & Cloths
  • Dryer Balls
  • Swedish Dishcloths
  • Wax Warmers

About the rebrand

Hello, I thought I would start the new year out by telling you a little about why I chose to rebrand as Cedar Witch Goods.

First...the Cedar River. I grew up in Charles City and in 2008 I moved to Cedar Rapids. The Cedar runs right through both of these towns, and combined, I've lived approximately 32 years of my life along this river. That's why Cedar had to be part of the name.

Second...while growing up, my mom's side of the family just loved to talk about witches. My 4x great-grandmother (known as Grandma Curls to many) was known by the family as a witch. My middle name is a play on her middle name. This encouraged in me a thorough love of all things witchy and spooky at an early age.

Am I a witch? Eh...I guess I'm not "not" a witch. But I also don't follow any sort of "practice." I don't prescribe to any particular religion and the "witchiest" things I do are having an ancestor altar in my home, smoke cleansing the house, manifesting parking spots, buying crystals and mystical-looking art. In a nutshell, I've always felt a little witchy inside and I vibe with people and things that are witchy, too.

I've been at this since 2013, and I can't wait to see how this business continues to evolve.Â
